Dancing on Dandeana

Dancing on Dandeana

We are big fans of DANCING WITH THE STARS so we were thrilled when the show approached us about allowing our favorite couple Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough to come aboard and practice for their nautical themed performance in Week Three. They chose the Dandeana (my personal favorite) to hone their Quickstep routine because its second floor party deck is perfect for dancing! We thought the judges (Len, we’re talking to you) were a bit hard on them for not adhering to regulation Quickstep but there is no doubt they gave a spectacular performance. Although we can’t take credit for their routine, we can’t help but feel that a little FantaSea magic helped them move forward in the competition. Be sure to tune in Monday and vote for our favorite couple!

Kim Kardashian's ShoeDazzle Celebrates 1 Year!

Kim Kardashian's ShoeDazzle Celebrates 1 Year!

Kim Kardashian may not have won top honors on DWTS but her star is certainly on the rise in Hollywood. Even if you don’t watch KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS, you’ve no doubt seen her on the cover of every magazine from Us Weekly to People to Playboy. The details of her life are fodder for the tabloids, you’ve seen her mixing it up with her sisters on E!, and if you were in Marina Del Rey on April 22nd, you may have seen her boarding the Dandeana. The entrepreneurial reality star’s company came aboard to host Shoe Dazzle’s 1st Anniversary party where guests (wearing “to die for” shoes) snacked on delicious hors d’oeuvres and grooved to the tunes of a celebrity guest DJ. The luxury yacht was dressed to the nines in black and ivory linens, accented with notes of hot fuchsia and gorgeous flowers to complete the look.
Kim co-founded ShoeDazzle, following the path of Bag, Borrow Or Steal (of Sex and the City fame) with the idea that every woman deserves to have a great pair of shoes, hand picked just for her by a Hollywood stylist.

Better to be a Big Fish in a Small Pond?

Posted January 29, 2010 by Scott Rieth

Big companies and small companies have both their advantages and disadvantages, and I have been fortunate to gain experience and obtain valuable tools from both along the way. So when I was posed with the question, “what do you think is the difference between working for a small company versus a big company?” It really got me thinking, “what are the differences?”

While large companies can have more resources, it can be more challenging to get things accomplished with the levels of management between you and the CEO. While smaller companies can provide a more family like environment and direct contact to the top, budgetary restrictions can at times be a challenge.  Although, there is one resource they have in common regardless of size…their people.

When it comes to big companies versus small, I’m not suggesting one is better than the other, as many large companies successfully held onto this recipe for success.  When you read Fortune magazine’s annual issue of the top 100 companies to work for, it probably won’t surprise you that this is not a deep seeded secret that their employees simply like what they do and want to go to work every day for a very good reason.

When I worked for a luxury hotelier I was always inspired by how the company was built from a passionate desire to provide their guests and employees the best experience possible even when it was no more than a roadside motel.  I have also had the opportunity to work for a celebrity chef, whose attention to detail, customer service and his staff was personal and non-negotiable.  All of these talented men and women had one thing in common; their employees and customers came first and were their most valuable resources, and they made it well known.

Simply put, this translates to a more positive experience for the client, who find they are working with people who are passionate about what they do, genuinely care and are detail oriented, thus providing the best possible experience.  Whether it is a dinner for 50 or a reception for 400.

Having had a chance to work a few events and visit with current and prospective clients here at FantaSea, there is something to be said for a small, family owned company.  As a company policy, “We Care!” You are not just a number here, each client is treated as a guest and each party is just as important as the next.  It’s the personal attention that we give to each and every person here that sets us apart and makes this company the best choice for any event.

A Silver Anniversary with Style

Posted May 26, 2009 by Stephanie Ginzburg

A 25th Wedding Anniversary is a momentous occasion for every couple. After a quarter of a century together there is much to reflect on and celebrate. Some couples choose to have a quiet celebration with just the two of them and a bottle of wine to get the memories flowing and others, like David and Judy Light, can’t resist a big party!

It was so nice to have David, Judy and 120 of their closest friends and family aboard the RegentSea for an evening of dinner, drinks, dancing, roasts and toasts. Especially because David and Judy are our neighbors – they live in a condo right in the Marina!

The RegentSea looked elegant that night; all decked out in silver and black. David and Judy rented custom linens in the traditional 25th Anniversary color, silver. They chose black as the accent color and used it for the chair coverings and napkins, which made for a classic color palette. For their centerpieces they worked with our in-house florist, Bill, to create an arrangement of bright, orange gerbera daisies and hot pink roses that injected color into the room and showcased their vibrant personalities – 25 years and counting!

Throughout the night friends and family, who had flown in from all over for the celebration, shared stories about the couple and enjoyed a slideshow that played continuously with pictures of David and Judy over the past 25 years. Tip: To make your anniversary party more meaningful incorporate your wedding photos into the décor, or make a slideshow. You could also relive your 1st dance, play your wedding song, or order a cake that is a replica of your original wedding cake.

David, Judy and their friends and family love to dance and they rocked the boat all night long. The couple opened up the dance floor with a lively, swing song, “In the Mood” by the Glen Miller Band. Their romantic dance got all of the guests in the mood too – to dance the night away that is. You can check out some videos of guests dancing to classics from the big band era here.
