It’s no secret that fall is upon us…a most glorious season that means different things to different people. September signals the start of football mania…helllooooo Sunday games and fantasy teams. October tends to welcome the highly-anticipated pumpkin spiced everything. November practically begs you to break out that perfect pair of boots you’ve waited so patiently to wear. For us at FantaSea Yachts, fall typically means one thing…holiday party planning!
For us, this IS the most wonderful time of the year. We like to think of ourselves as little party elves working away to deliver the MOST amazing experience for our clients. And it varies with each event…from our clients who return year after year to Silicon Beach start-ups and corporate LA biz. Each party brings a different style and we LOVE executing each vision. Another thing we love? Taking note of popular trends that emerge during the party planning process.
With that, our general manager, Jasmine Lee, is sharing the top three “must dos” our team has noticed with this year’s holiday parties.
Speciality themed cocktails: This is such a fun, personalized detail that I don’t think will ever go out of style. It’s a given that the bar will be the party hot spot, so why not personalize the experience by creating a signature cocktail or two? Name one after the company CEO. Find a way to incorporate your company slogan or other aspects of your office culture. It will be the buzz (pun intended) of your soiree.
Lighting: This year, we’re seeing a lot of our clients have fun with their lighting. As they should! Lighting is a fantastic way to dazzle your guests. Some trends we’ve seen making a big statement are different variations of uplighting. But it doesn’t always have to be so grand. Smaller touches, like adding fairy lights to your centerpieces, can really make your event glow, creating a somewhat magical ambience that your guests will love.
Unique venues: It’s no secret that people choose FantaSea Yachts because they are looking for something different. A unique venue that will impress their guests…that WOW factor. Whether you’ve cruised with us before or considering us for your next big event, we’re sharing a few, fun nuggets about what makes us Marina del Rey’s premier luxury yacht charter company!
When did FantaSea Yachts start its business?
We first entered the cool waters of Marina del Rey in 1980, and have been honored to serve this waterfront community for 36 years and counting.
Is FantaSea Yachts family-owned and operated?
It’s true! Companies like ours do exist. Not only are we a family business, but we consider our employees our family. Much of our team has worked at FantaSea for 10, 15, 20+ years! We’ve even gone on to hire the families of our staff. Several of our employees have also selected FantaSea as their chosen venue for their important life milestones. We’ve celebrated the weddings, birthdays and other joyous occasions of our employees aboard our yachts, which have been incredibly special for the entire team.
What makes FantaSea’s yacht fleet so distinct?
There are several factors that make our yachts special. One thing that our guests love is that our yachts are privately owned. We also only do private charters. The other key factor is the maintenance of the yachts. We have a crew that’s specifically dedicated to making sure our yachts are in the most pristine condition, from paint jobs and polishing to yacht maintenance and furniture design. When you step aboard one of our yachts, its proper care and upkeep will shine.
What are the most popular celebrations you see aboard FantaSea Yachts?
Weddings take the cake (pun intended) as our most popular event, but we’re more than just “the big day.” Celebrations take the form of many special occasions from anniversary parties and blow-out birthday bashes to retirement festivities and family reunions. But adults don’t have all the fun. We’ve done countless bar/bat mitzvahs, proms and other social engagements! Our celebrations video showcases the gamut of our soirees.
Are corporate events held aboard FantaSea Yachts?
One word: YES! We love catering to our corporate clients. Business luncheons, seminars at sea, dockside meetings, sunset cocktail cruises, welcome receptions, closing parties, we’ve seen/done it all! Not only are we experienced with the business community, but our close proximity to LAX (only 4 miles), makes us easily accessible to those flying in for the event. Silicon Beach is buzzing on the Westside. How has FantaSea worked with this sector?
We’re making waves with our neighboring tech community by partnering with several start-ups for mixers and receptions aboard our luxury yachts, providing an exclusive experience for guests. This summer we held a reception on-board our Dandeana yacht for Silicon Beach Fest. The group loved being on the water, taking in views of the Los Angeles coastline. Our unique setting is what makes the FantaSea Yachts experience so desirable.

Wait a sec, no more Wedding day to look forward to?? *sniffles*
Our Wedding Weekend was absolutely blissful. The colors, linens, family, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, Yacht Cruise, Halloween Dinner and Honeymoon… All were overwhelmingly beautiful and surreal.
There were a couple hiccups that occurred the day of that only a trained Wedding eye would notice and of course the 3 hour drive made a couple family members a little hangry (hungry + angry = hangry) when they arrived, but all in all this was truly the experience we create for couples over and over again.
It was in fact… our turn to be married.
The Dandeana cruise started off the perfect week of events and can I just say my family was SUPER impressed with the level of luxury aboard the FantaSea flagship. My Mother in Law (feels good to say) couldn’t stop taking pictures of e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. No lie. With a great big smile on her face, which to me meant she was having the time of her life. She even mentioned to me that she remembers cruising at a family wedding a few years back but she knows it wasn’t with FantaSea cause our yachts are must nicer. Thanks Mom!
Ceremony made everyone cry, as planned. So many compliments about how involved in the Ceremony our children were. We exchanged vows with the kids as well as rings, turns out our Ceremony was about 40 minutes long. Felt like 15 minutes. Music was hand picked by yours truly which was another compliment I received from many. Email me for our playlist, which included songs from Bjork, Magnet, The Shins, Willy Wonka, The Muppets & Labyrinth Soundtracks. Cocktail Hour went by way too fast and we found ourselves chasing the sunset for those perfect lighting shots and went straight to family style dinner. We actually were able to eat the food!! I am so excited. Most couples are unable to eat, are too wound up to eat, too busy to eat and so on and so forth. Not us. The food was fabulous; we had Beef Brisket & Salmon with a fresh fruit salsa, home made tomato basil soup served with grilled cheese sandwiches & Yukon gold roasted potatoes. Beverages were a huge hit: Abuelitos Hot Chocolate, homemade horchata, PBR & Sangria.
Almost every single guest made a toast, which we expected and were able to pre-plan for. Our first dance was my husband and I to “Rainbow Connection” by Kermit the Frog and than our children joined in and we waltzed in circles around the dance floor. Several family members complimented on this as well. My Maids of Honor decorated the get-away car, which was a surprise, and we got to drive around town being honked at all weekend, which made the magic last a little longer. Very appreciated. Way to go girls. It was all very thick with family and emotions and visually breathtaking, just as we wanted.
A couple shout outs to our Honeymoon Venue “Victoria’s Last Resort in Cambria”, the wickedest & coolest Bed & Breakfast in California hands down.
Also, our Vacation Rental “Abella Garden Inn in Arroyo Grande”. Gina the owner straight up bust a move on the dance floor with my father in law, can’t wait for the pictures to surface. It was an awesome touch to have all of our family under one roof with just us as opposed to a hotel where you run into your family much less. It had been about 3 years since I saw my Brother who lives in Texas and my Uncle’s who came from Tehachapi & Azusa. So them being around me constantly made my heart extra warm and fuzzy.
And now that it is all over, I am so sad! I am seriously suffering some post wedding blues. I am trying to remind myself that life can begin now and our Happily Ever After had the perfect start, but on my first day back to work I found myself extra congratulating new brides to be out of sheer jealousy. My husband insists we do this every year to help keep the love refreshed and renewed. I am considering it heavily.
