Sales Manager John Williams-Jacob is a tremendous asset to the guests as well as the staff at FantaSea Yachts & Yacht Club because of his extensive experience in the service industry and his innate ability to anticipate client needs. A self-proclaimed “purveyor of Epicurean events,” John is right at home at FantaSea, where the fleet of yachts and seaside locale lend themselves to the luxurious parties he loves to plan.
John learned at an early age that a great event must incorporate the sensual elements of taste, sight, smell, touch and sound. His father owned a restaurant in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona, with 13,000 square feet of banquet space where John learned the art of food, planning, presentation and event management. John continued to develop his palate for entertaining in Denver, as General Manager for two of Zagat’s top 100 Italian restaurants in America; Firenze a Tavola & Parisi’s Trattoria. He also served as the General Manager of two JW Marriot restaurants and the Sales Manager for Tony Rosacci’s Catering.
Though John honed most of his event planning skills while working in restaurants, he also credits his collegiate experiences and travels for shaping him professionally. In college, John worked with both The University of Arizona and The Sovereign Arts Society to bring Cuban musicians and dancers to Arizona to teach dance & drum workshops. He also organized large-scale cultural festivals with live music, dancing and ethnic cooking demonstrations. After graduating with his B.A. in The Humanities he set out to tour Europe, the Middle East and South America, eventually settling in Mexico for three years, where he taught English, in Guadalajara, at Universidad Pan Americana and Universidad de Guadalajara.
John’s travels ignited in him a deep appreciation for connecting with people, which has endeared him to everyone he works with at FantaSea.
